MEDICAL SCRIBING AND MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION Medical Scribing and Medical Transcription are two important professions in the healthcare documentation field. Though similar in purpose, they differ in process, setting, and interaction with healthcare providers. Medical Scribing involves documenting real-time patient interactions during a clinical visit. A medical scribe works closely with a doctor, either physically or remotely, to record patient history, examination findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans directly into an Electronic Health Record (EHR). Scribes allow physicians to focus more on patient care rather than paperwork. This role requires a strong grasp of medical terminology, excellent listening and typing skills, and familiarity with clinical workflows.
